Haute Horology: Jacob & Co Unveils a $1.5 Million Timepiece in Tribute to the Ambani Empire

The world of ultra-luxury takes a new leap into exclusivity with the unveiling of an extraordinary timepiece by Jacob & Co. This jewel-like creation pays homage to Vantara, the private wildlife sanctuary managed by the family of Mukesh Ambani, Asia's richest man. At the heart of the dial is a hand-painted figurine representing Anant Ambani, the youngest son of the magnate, surrounded by a meticulously sculpted Bengal tiger and lion.

Although the watchmaking house has not officially disclosed the price of this unique model, experts from the Watchopea collective estimate its value to be around $1.5 million. A true technical and aesthetic feat, the watch is set with 397 gemstones, including diamonds, green sapphires, and garnets. According to the creators, the central statue symbolizes management and responsibility, directly alluding to Anant Ambani’s role in leading this monumental project located in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

The Vantara center, which spans over 1,400 hectares, is home to more than 2,000 animal species near the world's largest oil refinery, owned by the Ambani clan. While the site was mired in controversy last year regarding the acquisition of certain animals, an investigation ordered by the Supreme Court has since cleared any suspicion of irregularities. Inaugurated last March by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the sanctuary also served as the backdrop for Anant's extravagant pre-wedding celebrations in 2024, which brought together global elite figures from Bill Gates to Rihanna and Mark Zuckerberg.

For now, this collectible piece remains shrouded in mystery regarding its availability. A representative from Ethos Watches, the brand's sales partner in India, stated that the item is not yet available in stores. This watch does not merely tell the time; it serves as the ultimate symbol of the power and opulence of the Ambani dynasty, capturing the essence of an empire where animal philanthropy coexists with absolute luxury.
