Illegal Recruitments at the LGSC: The Supreme Court Upholds the Termination of Employment Contracts

They had been hired to work in local communities. A few months later, they found themselves unemployed, caught in an administrative storm of which they were neither the authors nor the accomplices. On Friday, January 23, the Supreme Court brought their legal battle to an end. In a detailed ruling, judges David Chan Kan Cheong and Aruna Devi Narain dismissed the judicial review request by 575 workers – out of the 1,463 who were laid off – and confirmed the terminations.
