Death of Santa Brizmohun: A Mother Passes, A Memory Remains

Dhoorpathee (Santa) Brizmohun, born Thacoor, the mother of Veena Ramgoolam and mother-in-law of Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam, passed away at the age of 87 after a long illness. Known for her discretion in public life, she was supported until the end by her loved ones who remained by her side. The wake was held on Saturday and Sunday at Elie and Sons in Beau-Bassin. The funeral took place yesterday at the Bigara cemetery in Curepipe.
