Academy of Design and Innovation: Shaping the Future of Design in Mauritius

The Academy of Design and Innovation (ADI), formerly known as the Fashion & Design Institute, is a public institution specializing in higher education in design in Mauritius. Operated under the Ministry of Industry, SMEs, and Cooperatives, it offers a wide range of creative and innovative training programs, from certificates to degrees, in fields such as art and design, graphic design, fashion, interior design, and jewelry design. With over twenty years of experience, ADI has trained more than a thousand students and has established itself as a leading reference in design education, thanks to recognized programs supported by local and international certifications.

With the enactment of the ADI Act in September 2022, the institution now has the authority to award its own diplomas and degrees, which will soon be integrated into its training offerings, further enhancing its role in the development of creative industries in Mauritius.

Additionally, students enrolled at ADI benefit from the Free Tertiary Education Scheme, meaning they do not pay tuition fees, only administrative and registration fees. This initiative provides them with a unique opportunity to gain a qualification recognized both locally and internationally.

Enrollment is now open for the upcoming academic year of 2026. For those who wish to have a visual preview of what the Academy offers, an exhibition showcasing the various departments will be held at the Caudan Arts Centre from February 26 to 28, 2026.
