Incidents at Palmar Beach: Eight Accused Remain in Custody, One Released on Bail

The nine individuals involved in the incident at Palmar Beach appeared before the Flacq court on Tuesday, January 27. Eight of them were taken back to police custody and will reappear in court on February 3. They face a temporary charge of rebellion.

Meanwhile, Tissan Goonjur, charged with "rogue and vagabond", has been granted conditional release. He must provide two sureties of Rs 6,000 each and sign a debt acknowledgment of Rs 25,000.

The suspects were arrested on Monday following a police intervention at the public beach of Palmar, targeting partygoers for noise pollution on Sunday. The situation escalated, and some police officers were assaulted.
