Suhail Lidialam: "The police will act firmly against any attempt of aggression or opposition"
After recent incidents of obstruction against police officers, evidenced by viral videos on social media, the police leadership has emphasized the necessity of clarity. Last Saturday, two young individuals vandalized a police vehicle in Jinfei using concrete blocks. The following day, on Palmar beach, several individuals confronted police who had responded to a complaint about noise pollution. In both instances, the main suspects were arrested within 24 hours and are now facing justice.
However, these cases are not isolated. There have been multiple instances of individuals disregarding police orders and hindering law enforcement. In response, the Central Barracks are taking action. DASP Suhail Lidialam, head of the Police Press Office, stated to the media that officers from the MPF are actively on the ground enforcing the law. They will take a firm stance against those who oppose police work, as was evident following the altercations in Palmar, which resulted in eight arrests so far.
