Arvin Boolell Urges Young People to Engage More in the Agricultural Sector

During the opening of the Agricultural Conference on Tuesday, January 27, at Côte-d’Or, Arvin Boolell urged young people to become more involved in the agricultural sector. The Minister of Agro-Industry emphasized the need to modernize this field.

Mauritius has significant agricultural land, but the country is facing a labor shortage, which will soon lead to the need for foreign workers, the minister pointed out. He also mentioned that his ministry is currently working on revising the insurance system for farmers in case of disasters.
