Nicolay Road Tragedy: Investigation Points to Drug Trafficking
The investigation into the accident that claimed the life of Dylan Rummun on January 24 has taken a new turn. The 26-year-old driver involved in the collision is now suspected of drug trafficking following the discovery of a suspicious package he allegedly tried to hide immediately after the incident. After being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, additional charges have been brought against the suspect.
On Tuesday, January 27, the Anti-Drug Brigade conducted four searches. While searches at the main residence of the driver in Quatre-Bornes and at one of the female passenger's homes yielded no results, the operation at the driver’s secondary residence in Pointe-aux-Piments led to the seizure of several banknotes and equipment for drug cultivation. The police also confiscated an ATV and two motorcycles from the victim's property to verify their origin. The investigation is ongoing.
