Coromandel: A Nepali Pedestrian Struck by a Car
An accident occurred on Wednesday evening on the main road in Coromandel, near a bus stop. A driver heading towards Beau-Bassin struck a pedestrian who was suddenly crossing the road.
According to reports, two individuals were crossing from right to left. The driver, traveling at a moderate speed, immediately braked to avoid impact but could not prevent the collision with one of the pedestrians, a 25-year-old Nepali national, who fell onto the roadway.
The police quickly arrived on the scene. The injured person was taken to Dr. Jeetoo Hospital. His condition was assessed as not serious, and he was allowed to leave the facility after necessary examinations.
A breathalyzer test conducted on the driver returned negative results.
