Catamaran Trip: Customers Claim to Have Been Defrauded of Rs 53,000
A dream outing that was supposed to take place in the western part of the island has turned into a nightmare for several customers. A fraudulent excursion company is suspected of scamming and is currently facing multiple complaints filed with the police, the most recent being lodged yesterday.
According to the victims, the service provider charged them Rs 53,000 for a catamaran trip that was originally scheduled for December 13. The day before, on December 12, the customers received a message informing them that the excursion could not take place due to bad weather. Trusting this explanation, they accepted it.
The provider then offered them two options: a refund or rescheduling the trip. The customers opted for a refund, but to this day, they have still not been reimbursed.
Recently, the company informed them that it had gone bankrupt before ceasing all communication. Phone calls remain unanswered, and the company's official page has vanished from social media, leaving customers in uncertainty and frustration.
