Travel Agency Fraud: Man Creates Fake Plane Tickets

A complaint for forgery and fraud has been filed following the discovery of fake plane tickets used for a spiritual trip to Saudi Arabia. The suspect allegedly forged documents in the name of an agency and embezzled Rs 157,200.

The director of a travel agency accuses a man of creating fake plane tickets using the logo and seal of his agency. In a complaint filed on Monday, January 26, the agency head explained that he was alerted by relatives of the suspect, who were experiencing issues with their plane tickets. The police have launched an investigation and are searching for the suspect.

The suspect's parents showed up at the airport to embark on a spiritual journey to Saudi Arabia, unaware that the plane tickets were fake. They learned this at the check-in counter. They alerted the travel agency, and the director made it clear to them that there had never been a reservation or payment for these tickets. "That boy just came to get a quote."

According to the travel agency owner, the suspect retrieved an old ticket issued by his agency for the same individuals in 2025 and modified it using computer tools to deceive his parents. "He used my company's logo to make fake plane tickets," asserted the travel agency director.

Forgery and Fraud

The travel agency director shared with Défi Plus about this case. "I had to file a complaint because it is harming my business's reputation." He reveals that the suspect tricked his parents. He explains that the suspect made them believe that he was handling all the necessary steps for booking plane tickets so they could travel to Mecca for the minor pilgrimage (Umrah).

At the airport, the suspect’s father sent photos of the plane tickets via WhatsApp to the agency head. According to him, the suspect had only retrieved a quote for the tickets in his parents' names, without ever confirming the reservation or making payment. With all preparations underway, the parents had no choice but to buy new plane tickets for their spiritual departure. Upon their return, they visited the agency to inquire about the situation. "They started asking why the plane tickets were invalid..." The agency head then showed them all the documents...

The son deceived his parents by providing them with his own bank account number and asking them to make a transfer there. He pocketed Rs 157,200 for the tickets and the trip.
