Domestic Violence: Marital Rape and Feminicide to be Clearly Defined by Law

Marital rape is finally being explicitly defined in law. This is one of the major changes introduced by the Draft Domestic Abuse Bill, which was discussed during a validation workshop held on January 27 and 28 by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Welfare, in collaboration with UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund). The two days of discussions involved NGOs and representatives from the Director of Public Prosecutions' office, focusing on confronting issues and establishing clear definitions.
