Commemoration of the Abolition of Slavery at Morne: "Drugs are the New Form of Slavery," Says Véronique Leu-Govind

On Saturday, February 1st, Junior Minister of Arts and Culture, Véronique Leu-Govind, attended the commemoration of the 191st anniversary of the abolition of slavery at Morne. During her speech, she stated that "drugs are the new form of slavery." According to her, this scourge affects all segments of society without distinction. Véronique Leu-Govind also emphasized that education alone is not enough to combat this issue. She called for unity, respect, and brotherhood to build the country’s future.
