Accident in Pamplemousses: Police Sergeant Seriously Injured During Cavadee Procession
A police sergeant was seriously injured while escorting a Cavadee procession in Pamplemousses around noon.
The officer was rushed to the Northern Hospital, where he is currently being treated.
According to initial investigation findings, a car driven by a 72-year-old man reportedly struck the sergeant. The police had signaled for the driver to stop, but the vehicle allegedly continued towards the officer.
When questioned by investigators, the driver stated that he did not see the sergeant signaling him to stop. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this incident.
