Iran Threatens Regional Conflict if the United States Attacks
The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has warned that any attack on his country would trigger a regional conflict as the United States continues to bolster its forces in the area.
"Americans must understand that if they start a war, this time it will be a regional war," Khamenei stated, as reported by the semi-official news agency Tasnim.
Earlier, Donald Trump claimed that Iran was engaged in "serious discussions" and expressed hope that they would lead to something "acceptable," while Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told CNN that he was "confident we can reach an agreement" regarding Tehran's nuclear program.
Donald Trump has threatened to intervene in Iran due to its nuclear ambitions as well as the deadly crackdown on anti-government protests.
