Cyclone: Madagascar: Three Dead and 28,000 Displaced After Fytia's Passage

The heavy rains caused by Cyclone Fytia have resulted in significant damage across Madagascar.

According to the preliminary report from the National Office for Risk and Disaster Management (BNGRC), three people have lost their lives, and nearly 28,000 residents have been affected, with 8,484 having to be displaced. The cyclone struck the large island at Soalala in the northwest, accompanied by gusts reaching up to 210 km/h.

Mahajanga experienced severe flooding due to this weather event.
