Finances: Gross Public Debt Reaches Rs 660.5 Billion, Nearly 89% of GDP

Public debt continues to grow. According to figures released by the Ministry of Finance on Friday, January 30, the debt of the Budgetary Central Government stood at Rs 598.8 billion at the end of December 2025, compared to Rs 570.4 billion six months earlier. It now represents 80.5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), after exceeding 81% in September. While the pace of growth shows a slight slowdown, the overall trend remains clearly upward.
