Coromandel: An Albion Resident Arrested After Cash and Gold Seizure
A 34-year-old resident of Albion was arrested on Sunday afternoon following a police operation at the Coromandel metro station, which resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of cash and gold jewelry.
Officers from the Metropolitan Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) acted on specific intelligence when they conducted a targeted operation in the station's parking lot. Around 2:50 PM, a private van was intercepted shortly after it parked in the area. A search of the driver revealed nothing incriminating, which led the police to inspect the vehicle.
During the search, a paper bag hidden under the driver's seat was discovered. It contained Rs 884,550 in cash as well as various pieces of gold jewelry, including chains, bracelets, and rings of different styles. Investigators suspect that the seized items are linked to illegal activities.
