Sodnac: Two Individuals Arrested for Drug Trafficking

Two individuals were arrested on Sunday night following an operation carried out by the Western Division of the ADSU in a residential complex in Sodnac, Quatre Bornes, related to a drug trafficking case with aggravating circumstances.

Acting on precise intelligence, police officers arrived at the scene on Sunday, February 2, 2026, to conduct a search. At around 10:10 PM, the officers accessed an apartment after identifying themselves and stating the purpose of their intervention.

Upon the police's arrival, one of the male occupants attempted to flee while holding a plastic package. He was pursued and intercepted on a balcony, where he discarded the package. The police immediately retrieved it in front of the occupants.

The package contained a quantity of substances suspected to be synthetic cannabinoids and heroin, including several bags of plant material, numerous folded aluminum papers containing suspicious substances, and other bags containing presumed heroin. A black electronic scale with residues suspected to be dangerous drugs was also seized.

A thorough search of the apartment led to the seizure of Rs 48,075 and 100 US dollars, believed to have originated from drug trafficking activities, as well as two mobile phones presumed to have been used in illegal transactions.

The two suspects were arrested, and the investigation is ongoing. The estimated market value of the seized substances is Rs 1,305,650.
