Moka: A Young Man Loses His Life in a Collision, His Wife Reflects

On February 7, they would have celebrated five months of marriage. However, Surya Gunga, 21, tragically lost his life in a road accident that occurred yesterday, Tuesday, February 3, in the afternoon.

The resident of L’Avenir in Saint-Pierre succumbed to his injuries after a collision between the motorcycle he was riding and a car in Moka, near MGI College. Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction at the time of impact.

His wife, Saariya Gunga, is in shock. "Everyone loved him; he was a good person," she shares. After hearing the news of the accident, she went to Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital with her family to see her husband. "He talked to me...," she recalls.

In tears, she remembers a passionate young man, particularly fond of his car. "He was just perfect...," she whispers, overwhelmed with grief.
