Weather: A Tropical System May Hit the Mascarenes Starting Saturday
A tropical system is forming in the southwest Indian Ocean, approximately 600 km east of Agalega, near the coordinates 11° South and 63° East. It is developing under favorable conditions and is expected to gradually intensify. This information comes from the "Weather Outlook" issued at 4:30 PM by the Vacoas weather station on Wednesday, February 4th.
If it becomes a moderate tropical storm in the coming days, it will be named "Gezani."
Forecasts suggest that this system could start to affect the weather and sea conditions in Saint Brandon as early as Thursday, February 5th, before impacting the entire Mascarenes from Saturday, February 7th.
