‘Boarding Denial’ of Students in Saint-Pierre: Osman Mahomed Announces Corrective Measures

After the release of a video on social media showing a tense exchange between students from Lorette College in Saint-Pierre and a bus conductor from the National Transport Corporation (CNT), Transport Minister Osman Mahomed announced corrective measures on Thursday afternoon, February 5.

The minister visited the school following the denial of access to a CNT bus that the students faced the day before. After discussions with the school management and the affected students, he learned of an issue regarding the availability of school transport.

Osman Mahomed stated that he requested the CNT to explore solutions to alleviate the difficulties faced by the students. Additionally, a detailed report on the incident is expected. According to the minister, the CNT acknowledges a shortage of buses on certain routes.
