Murder of Soopramanien Kistnen: New Revelations in an Affidavit

An affidavit submitted by Ashwan Lalljee, also known as Pritvee Lalljee, is set to shake one of the most sensitive cases in recent Mauritian history once again. This resident of Batimarais claims to hold crucial information regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of Soopramanien Kistnen, a former political agent of the MSM.

In the sworn affidavit, which we have a copy of, Lalljee reveals the names of the alleged masterminds and the "hitmen" involved in Kistnen's assassination, which occurred in October 2020. Among those named is an individual identified as R.H., connected to a former minister.

In his sworn affidavit submitted on Wednesday, Lalljee explains that he had a romantic relationship with the widow of a man who died in a car accident in 2024. According to him, they met through social media. Over time, Lalljee became intrigued by the woman's lifestyle, which he describes as particularly comfortable. He claims to have repeatedly noticed large amounts of cash stored in a leather bag in her bedroom.

Lalljee recounts that on January 30, 2026, around 4:30 PM, an unknown person approached him in a shopping center in Saint-Pierre, warning him about the activities of the widow's family. Following this encounter, Lalljee claims he confronted the woman, who then disclosed disturbing revelations about her deceased husband.

According to the widow's confidences, her husband transported Soopramanien Kistnen to Telfair while he was unconscious. Lalljee further claims that Kistnen was rendered unconscious after receiving two injections of pethidine, administered by a nurse stationed at Candos Hospital.

The affidavit specifies that Kistnen was transported in a red BMW, a vehicle driven by the widow's late husband and accompanied by a man described as a well-known "muscle man" in the South of the country. A photo of this red car, along with its license plate, is attached to the affidavit.

In his testimony, Lalljee also states that the widow revealed the names of several individuals involved in the murder. She mentioned an individual named R.H., related to a former minister, and another named F.K., who is very active on social media, as the masterminds behind the assassination. A third name, A.B., a "muscle man" from the South, is also mentioned as the executor of the murder.

The widow also told Lalljee that her husband was generously rewarded in cash for his role in the crime, which allowed him to finance a luxurious lifestyle, including the purchase of vehicles, such as a BMW X4.

The affidavit also mentions the red car, which, according to Lalljee, was damaged the night of the murder before being repaired after Soopramanien Kistnen's funeral.

We confronted the widow with Ashwan Lalljee's allegations. While she confirmed having had a relationship with the whistleblower, she categorically denied all accusations against her. However, she acknowledged knowing F.K., specifying that she had attended a religious ceremony at his place some time ago.

The woman also stated to Radio Plus that she had filed a complaint against Ashwan Lalljee for harassment and threats. According to our findings, the police have already questioned both the widow and the individual named F.K.

This case is ongoing.
