ICTA Breach: Ashwan Lalljee Released on Bail

Ashwan Lalljee appeared before the Moka court on Monday morning after being arrested on Saturday for a breach of the ICTA, following two complaints lodged by his ex-partner. He was released on bail after his court appearance.

Lalljee posted bail of 10,000 rupees and also signed a debt acknowledgment of 30,000 rupees. The police did not object to his release.

However, the court imposed certain conditions, notably that Ashwan Lalljee must not interfere with witnesses.

According to reports, the first complaint was filed on February 11. The complainant claims that a friend sent her a video in which Ashwan Lalljee states that her deceased husband was involved in the murders of Soopramanien Kistnen and Manan Fakoo.

A second complaint was recorded on February 24. The woman alleges that the suspect called her and made threats against her and her daughter.

It’s worth noting that Ashwan Lalljee, also known as Pritvee Lalljee, signed an affidavit last week claiming to have information regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of Soopramanien Kistnen, a former political agent of the MSM.
