Since Early 2026: Manager of Mon Destin Home Accused of Human Trafficking Granted Conditional Release

Located in Forest-Side, the Mon Destin retirement home accommodates around fifteen residents and operates as a Nursing Care Centre. The establishment had already attracted the attention of the authorities at the beginning of 2026 as part of an investigation into a suspected case of "Human Trafficking."

The Central Criminal Investigation Department (CCID) was in charge of this inquiry and arrested the manager under a provisional charge of 'Human Trafficking.' He is currently out on conditional release.

According to information gathered by the police, the manager allegedly asked some residents to perform various tasks at his home. He was suspected of exploiting the residents of the centre, who were placed there to receive care due to their circumstances.

Furthermore, in the investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) concerning the fatal assault of Rebecca Laretif by Marie Isabelle Mégane Ang-Ho, which occurred during the night from Monday to Tuesday, March 10, investigators are currently leaning towards the theory of a trivial dispute. The two women reportedly had an altercation over a cake before the exchange of insults escalated. According to the preliminary findings of the investigation, Rebecca Laretif was then physically confronted by her assailant.
