National Day 2026: Discover the List of Republic Honorees

The list of honorees of the Republic, in celebration of the national holiday marking the 58th anniversary of Mauritius's Independence, was made public this Thursday, March 12.

As every year, these honorary distinctions are awarded to Mauritians who have made significant contributions to the development of the country in various fields, including politics, public service, sports, religion, the economy, and civil society.

The highest state honor, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (GCSK), was awarded to Rajesh Bhagwan, Jean-Claude de l’Estrac, and Shakeel Mohamed.
