A situation not seen since 2007 is currently unfolding on the island of La Réunion. The Piton de la Fournaise volcano is still erupting, and the lava flow continues to advance. According to Linfo.re, the lava front resumed its progress on Thursday morning, March 12, and was approximately 300 meters away from the RN2 road by late morning, moving at an estimated speed of 25 to 30 meters per hour.
