Port-Louis Market: A New Cleaning and Rat Control Exercise Planned in Six Months
The Port-Louis municipality is planning a new cleaning and rat control operation at the central market within six months. This announcement was made by the Lord Mayor, Aslam Hossenally, in a statement to RadioPlus following the operation conducted over the past two days.
According to him, this exercise is essential to maintain hygiene at the Port-Louis market. Aslam Hossenally emphasizes that cleanliness should be a shared responsibility and calls on merchants for their full cooperation.
It is worth noting that the Port-Louis market was completely closed on Wednesday, March 11, and Thursday, March 12, to allow for a cleaning and rat control exercise. The goal was to maintain a cleaner and healthier environment for both merchants and visitors.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Anil Bachoo, urged farmers, the private sector, and the general public to avoid littering. He made this statement on Friday following the second multisectoral meeting. According to him, leptospirosis poses a serious danger.
