Synthetic Drugs: Over 1,700 Arrests in 18 Months, Including Consumers and Traffickers

Between September 1, 2024, and March 12, 2026, a total of 822 consumers, 879 dealers, and 31 traffickers of synthetic drugs were arrested. During a session in Parliament, Dr. Aumeer, the MP for Port-Louis South and Port-Louis Central, questioned Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam, who provided details on the scale of the issue, particularly regarding the number of arrests and other relevant statistics.
