MauBank Recognized by J.P. Morgan for Its U.S. Dollar Clearing Operations
MauBank has been awarded the 2025 Global Clearing Elite Quality Recognition Award by J.P. Morgan Payments for its U.S. dollar clearing operations. This accolade recognizes an automated processing rate of MT103 payments (STP) of 99.59% in 2025, slightly down from 99.69% in 2024, positioning the bank among the top performers in J.P. Morgan's global network.
U.S. dollar clearing is crucial for processing and settling international payments denominated in USD. In Mauritius, where many commercial contracts are tied to the dollar, the quality of these operations directly impacts the speed of payments and the liquidity management of businesses engaged internationally.
For over 15 years, MauBank has partnered with J.P. Morgan Payments to enhance the structuring and integrity of its payment messages. The adoption of the ISO 20022 standard via SWIFT has allowed alignment of flows with international standards and improved the STP rate, which measures the proportion of payments processed without manual intervention.
Maoumar Pooloo, Head of Operations, emphasizes that aligning the bank's data standards with international norms has strengthened the reliability and accuracy of cross-border flows.
“This recognition reflects the growth in dollar volumes and the coordination of our teams across multiple time zones to ensure smooth and secure international transactions,” states Vishuene Vydelingum, CEO of MauBank.
