2024-2025 Audit Report: Judiciary: Over 66,000 Cases Pending

The 2024-2025 Audit Report highlights the ongoing pressure on the judicial system, despite a slight improvement. As of the end of December 2024, there were 66,919 pending cases, with 80% (53,239 cases) in district courts; 11% (7,415 cases) in the Supreme Court; 4% (2,981 cases) in intermediate courts; and 5% (3,284 cases) in other lower jurisdictions. Throughout the year, 88,586 new cases were registered, compared to 93,521 cases resolved, resulting in an overall increase in backlog.
