FCC Chief Targeted: Bullets Sent with Threatening Letter
A 26-year-old firefighter, Satyam Gitesh Samnath, is accused of orchestrating the sending of a threatening letter containing two bullets to the home of Titrudeo Sanjay Dawoodarry.
At this stage of the investigation, Satyam Gitesh Samnath, who lives in Eau-Coulée, is identified as the mastermind behind these threats. He allegedly recruited two accomplices, Aldric Vincent Boodoo and Laval Mervin Dupré, who were tasked with sending an envelope that contained, among other things, a threatening letter written in Mauritian Creole, as well as two bullets, to the residence of Titrudeo Sanjay Dawoodarry in the Hautes Plaines Wilhems.
Riding a motorcycle driven by Aldric Vincent Boodoo, the two accomplices went to Titrudeo Sanjay Dawoodarry's home late on the night of Thursday, March 12, to execute their plan. They had previously altered the license plate of the motorcycle. Upon arriving near the home, Laval Mervin Dupré placed the envelope containing the threatening letter in the garage. Satyam Gitesh Samnath and his accomplices are currently behind bars.
Since the end of last week, the Central Fire Stations have deployed elements from the Special Mobile Force (SMF) to monitor the residence of the FCC head. They have also patrolled the perimeter to detect any suspicious movements that could pose a danger to him and his family.
The hierarchy at Police Headquarters (PHQ) believes these threats pose a high risk to Titrudeo Sanjay Dawoodarry, given the alarming content of the letter: "We know everything about you, we find you, we hear you everywhere, we know all your moves and all your family's moves. God’s eye is upon you, we are giving you an ultimatum, do your work right, do your work according to the law, do not act according to yourself."
"We are giving you a choice; you will choose what you want and which direction you want it to come down on your head!" states the letter's author, referencing the presence of the two bullets. The envelope also contained a photo of Titrudeo Sanjay Dawoodarry, images of his house taken by drones, as well as a photo of a vehicle he uses.
The author of the threats goes further, indicating a specific part of the house with arrows: "We are giving you a choice, you will choose what you want and which direction you want it to come down on your head!!" Two areas of his house are marked with arrows: "Choose from here when you are drinking tea on Sunday morning." There is also mention of a space for drying clothes and the GPS coordinates of Titrudeo Sanjay Dawoodarry's home.
FCC Reaffirms Its Determination
The FCC believes these threats are linked to its relentless fight against drug trafficking, including arrests for money laundering and the seizure of numerous assets. "In the face of threats, the Financial Crime Commission reaffirms its determination to continue its actions against drug trafficking and financial crimes.
These warnings follow recent operations conducted by the institution against networks engaged in illegal practices. These intimidation attempts will not deter the FCC from its mission to protect Mauritian families from the ravages of drugs and traffickers," stated the FCC in a press release following the emergence of these threats.
