Tourism Authority: José Arunasalam Resigns After Series of Internal Complaints
José Arunasalam has resigned from his position as president of the Tourism Authority. He submitted his resignation letter on Tuesday.
His departure comes amid a tense environment. Following his dismissal and a parliamentary query last week, further complaints were lodged against him by employees of the institution with the Ministry of Labor.
Last Tuesday in Parliament, Tourism Minister Richard Duval was particularly critical, mentioning multiple employee complaints and internal decisions made without consulting the board of directors.
In light of this situation, José Arunasalam was dismissed on February 27, in accordance with the law.
We attempted to reach him for his account of the events, but without success.
