In Plaine-Verte: A Young Man Assaults His Uncle and Steals Rs 5,300

A scene of domestic violence unfolded on Wednesday afternoon in Plaine-Verte. A man in his thirties was severely injured in the hand by his nephew after a request for money went awry.

The 21-year-old had gone to his uncle's house to ask for money to visit the barber. However, the situation escalated when he spotted a bundle of cash. As his uncle was about to hand him Rs 100, the suspect suddenly snatched the entire amount of Rs 5,300.

During the altercation, the nephew inflicted a deep cut on his uncle's hand with a blade before fleeing the scene. The victim, bleeding, was rushed to Dr. Jeetoo Hospital for emergency treatment.

The police have launched an investigation for armed robbery. The suspect is currently being actively sought.
