Mobile Phone Use in Schools: Stricter Rules Coming in the Second Term
Mahend Gungapersad aims to accelerate the implementation of rules governing mobile phone use in schools starting in the second term.
On Monday, March 30, the Minister of Education met with stakeholders in the sector at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Public Service and Innovation in Réduit to discuss the situation.
The regulations, prepared in collaboration with the State Law Office and enhanced through consultations held since last year, are now in the finalization stage.
The next step is to obtain approval from the Council of Ministers.
Also present was Vikash Ramdonee, president of the United Deputy Rectors and Rectors Union, who expressed support for the new mobile phone regulations.
