Weather: Heavy Rain Warning in Effect Until 7 PM

A heavy rain warning is currently in effect in Mauritius. It was issued at 2:15 PM this Wednesday, April 1st, and is valid until 7 PM this evening. Warm, humid, and unstable atmospheric conditions are promoting the formation of active clouds.

Heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms are expected in the western and southern parts of the island. These localized thunderstorms may persist until this evening.

Water accumulation is anticipated in flood-prone areas.

Visibility will be reduced due to fog and showers in certain regions.

Members of the public are advised to:

• Stay in safe locations and avoid open areas, hiking, sea outings, and sheltering under trees during thunderstorms;
• Avoid areas prone to water accumulation;
• Exercise extreme caution on the roads due to reduced visibility caused by heavy rain and fog.
