Restrictions on Heavy Trucks on Certain Roads During Rush Hours: Fines Up to Rs 200,000 and Five Years in Prison
All freight vehicles and tractors weighing over 3,500 kg will not be allowed to operate during morning rush hours, specifically from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM on weekdays, on certain roads. This measure was announced by the Mauritius Police Force (MPF) in a statement released on April 4th.
Violators face fines of up to Rs 200,000 and possible imprisonment of up to five years.
