Nou Lakaz - The Major Home and Garden Fair: The Essential Event This Sunday
The Nou Lakaz fair was bustling at SVICC, Pailles, this Saturday. With solar innovations and discounted decor, Mauritians have until this Sunday to equip themselves.
Whether for renovation, decoration, or inspiration, visitors had various motivations on Saturday, April 4, at SVICC. The Nou Lakaz fair attracted crowds eager to explore the latest trends in home and garden. Launched on April 3 by Events Plus in collaboration with Radio Plus and Le Défi Media Group, the event is now in its final hours. The doors will remain open this Sunday, April 5, from 10 AM to 7 PM, concluding this major home equipment event.
From the moment it opened, the conference center buzzed with demonstrations. From cooking solutions to sanitary equipment, furniture, and renewable energy, the offerings are extensive. Visitors compared materials, tested mattress comfort, and discovered new collections of lighting and ornamental plants.
Solar Center: Photovoltaic Expertise for Autonomy
Located at the entrance of the Atrium, Solar Center Mauritius's booth catches the eye. As energy transition is a pressing concern, the brand showcases its photovoltaic panel solutions for residential and commercial sectors.
Specializing in rooftop installations—whether for individual homes, offices, warehouses, or agricultural buildings—the company offers two primary configurations: the On-Grid system (connected to the public network) and the Off-Grid system (autonomous with battery storage). For Solar Center, technical precision is key to a successful installation. "A site visit is mandatory before proposing a solution. Each solar generator is specific," explains Arnaud Apollon, Sales Director.
The company's design office consistently employs engineers to analyze each project. "The goal is to determine the optimal configuration based on geographic location, roof characteristics, and the client's actual consumption. We tailor our solutions to precisely meet each profile," Arnaud Apollon adds.
RedLine Distribution: Innovation for Daily Life
Further down the aisles, RedLine Distribution showcases a diverse range of products, highlighted by the introduction of the Ecovacs brand, along with Eluxgo, Promate, Rotai, Sharp, Electrolux, and Instant Brands. Among the new items, the Nutricook brand stands out. "Nutricook specializes in smart cooking. Their mission is to make healthy meal preparation both fast and accessible with multifunctional devices," explains Dominique Lee, Manager of RedLine Distribution.
The company displays a broad selection of the range, featuring the SteamiX, a versatile appliance that combines air frying, baking, and steaming. The range also includes ice cream makers, waffle makers, infrared plates, and kettles. "We provide a two-year warranty on these products, ensuring reliability for users," she adds.
AJS Beauty: The Remarkable Arrival of 'Magasin 50'
Among the newcomers at this edition, AJS Beauty, known as Magasin 50, makes its debut at the fair. The booth showcases a variety of solutions for decoration and tableware.
"We offer a range of decorative items, household linens, and tableware to meet all expectations. We focus on significant stock and quality accessible to everyone," shares Asraf Boodoo, the owner. For its inaugural participation at SVICC, AJS Beauty is offering discounts of 40% across its entire range.
Ablux Lighting: Lighting for Home Comfort
Ablux Lighting displays over a hundred lighting fixtures, from wall sconces to pendants, including hexagonal structures. This year, the brand expands its offerings by introducing new home equipment ranges.
"We are presenting new items such as step ladders and small furniture, as well as fans from the Trustlena brand," explains Muhammad Ibne Abbas Bissesur, director of Ablux Lighting.
These fan models focus on compact design and modern functionalities. "They meet the demand for discreet yet effective devices, equipped with LED screens and touch controls," he notes. For this edition, Ablux Lighting offers discounts ranging from 40% to 60% on all displayed products.
SSS Furniture: Customization at the Heart of Living Spaces
SSS Furniture marks its presence at the fair by showcasing three key pieces from its catalog: an integrated kitchen, a complete bedroom set, and a modular wardrobe. The emphasis is on total customization of living spaces.
"Whether it's for a kitchen or bedroom furniture, we work to realize our clients' projects according to their tastes and budget," explains Jérôme Rousseau, stand manager.
The creation process involves close collaboration. "We conduct on-site visits to assess the needs and preferences of clients. From there, we design a 3D model along with a precise quotation," he specifies.

For Sheik Amodine Nadeem and his mother Nazrine, visiting the fair has been a must during significant milestones in their real estate projects. "We come very regularly. In fact, during the construction of our house, the fair was a valuable resource," confides Sheik Amodine. Beyond direct purchases, they are drawn to the creative aspect: "We buy many products, of course, but we also come to gather new ideas for layout. That’s why we remain loyal visitors."
