Portrait: Dr. Mansoor Takun, Serving Children and Families
In Quartier-Militaire, growing up without a doctor nearby meant learning to live with uncertainty. At a time when access to healthcare was limited, families often had to manage with whatever resources they had, hoping that a nurse could come to their aid. It was in this simple yet demanding environment that Mansoor Takun grew up, the youngest of twelve siblings.
Son of a street vendor and a stay-at-home mother, he became acutely aware of the harsh realities of scarcity from a young age.
