Two Mice in a Hotel Room: Her 60th Birthday Gift Turns into a Nightmare
What was supposed to be a joyful moment turned into a real ordeal. A resident of Curepipe, Rajesparee Vencatapillay, claims to have had a traumatic experience during a stay at a hotel in the north, gifted by her children for her 60th birthday.
On April 2, she celebrated her birthday surrounded by her loved ones. To mark the occasion, her children gifted her a hotel stay along with her family. "I didn’t expect it at all. My children really touched my heart," she shares.
On April 4, she goes there with her three children and two grandchildren. The atmosphere is festive and friendly. "We were happy to be together... everything was going well," she recounts.
But on Saturday night, the situation takes a turn. Her daughter, who is resting in the room, is awakened by unusual noises. Curious, she decides to check. "I heard strange noises, like something moving," she explains.
That’s when she spots two mice in the room. "When I saw them, I panicked. I didn’t expect that at a three-star hotel," she says. In a panic, she screams and bursts into tears. Fearing more, she decides to sleep on another bed close to her brother. According to the family, the hotel management assured them that the room had been cleaned and asked them to relax.
However, the next evening, another incident occurs. The complainant's brother and his six-year-old niece also hear suspicious noises. Inspecting the room, they discover two mice again, this time under the mattress. "There were still some under the mattress... I was completely upset," he states, mentioning videos as evidence.
Alerted, the hotel management intervenes and cleans the room. Measures are taken to address the situation. But for Rajesparee Vencatapillay, the trauma remains. "They removed the mice, but after that, we couldn’t feel reassured anymore," she explains.
The family also claims that another room was offered to them, but the toilets and bathroom were not functional. "At 10 PM, still in shock, we decided to go home," she says.
Today, the sixty-year-old claims to still be affected by this episode. "It was a special moment for me... but I’m still in shock," she confides. This stay, meant to celebrate her 60th birthday, will remain a bitter memory for her.
