Fuel: Agreement between Mauritius and India for Long-term Supply Signed This Thursday
The signing of the G2G Agreement between India and Mauritius for the supply of fuel by Indian Oil Corporation will take place this Thursday, as announced by Navin Ramgoolam during the Private Notice Question (PNQ) in the National Assembly on Tuesday. Discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi were fruitful.
Navin Ramgoolam also noted that, given the situation in the Middle East, the import bill of the State Trading Corporation (STC) has surged by 82%, and an increase in bread prices is being considered. However, there are no plans to reduce VAT on petroleum products.
The Prime Minister also criticized the Militant Socialist Movement (MSM) government, which terminated the Betamax contract. He stated that, without this action, the country would not be in such a predicament.
