Murder of Jayce Donovan Clovis: His Father Responds After the Life Sentence of Johny Michel William Sanassee

After the sentencing of Johny Michel William Sanassee in court on Wednesday, Noël Clovis reacted. The father of Jayce Donovan Clovis spoke following the life sentence handed down to his son's murderer by the Assize Court.

"I am saddened that I could not see my son's face one last time..." Noël Clovis shared. He expressed that he views this sentence as a form of justice and now wishes to recover his son's remains in order to arrange for his funeral.

Jayce Donovan Clovis was 28 years old at the time of the incident, which occurred on February 22, 2022. The victim was killed before being buried on a vacant lot behind his murderer’s house in Pointe-aux-Biches.

Johny Michel William Sanassee, now 27 years old, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Assize Court on Wednesday, April 8.

The verdict was delivered by Judge Medhi Manrakhan after the accused pleaded guilty in November 2025.
