Five Officers Promoted to the Rank of Assistant Superintendent of Prisons After 33 Years of Service

On Thursday, April 16, five Principal Prison Officers were promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Prisons after 33 years of service, following a competitive examination.

The officers receiving this promotion are: Mr. Humduth Singh Fokeer, Mr. Atchamnah Vunka Jungum, Mr. Salim Burkutally, Mr. Rajesh Jawaheer, and Mr. Yougeswar Chummun.

The new Commissioner of Prisons, Rashid Ali Beekhun, acknowledged this achievement. This promotion recognizes their commitment, experience, and contributions to the effective operation of correctional facilities.

These individuals successfully completed the requirements of the examination needed to attain this higher rank.

Additionally, the Women Lead Prison Officer, Mrs. Taslima Elaheebux, has also been promoted to the position of Woman Principal Prison Officer, marking an important milestone in her career.
