Alleged Money Laundering: Avinash Luchoo Has Curfew Lifted

Avinash Luchoo, also known as Poum, can now prepare for the upcoming concert "Jalsa Lavini" without any restrictions. On Friday, April 17, 2026, the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) raised no objections to lifting the curfew imposed on this Goodlands resident for five days, from May 6 to May 10, 2026. Magistrate Dr. Bibi Zeenat Cassamally granted the request made by the defendant.

On April 10, 2026, Luchoo, through his lawyer, Mr. Ashley Hurhangee, submitted a motion for this lifting. He argued that he is the main organizer of the concert scheduled for May 9, 2026, and needs to make preparations in the days leading up to the event, which justified his request.

It is important to note that the Mapou court had imposed a curfew on Avinash Luchoo from 9 PM to 6 AM, as one of the conditions of his bail. At 38 years old, he is currently facing a provisional charge of money laundering related to an offense that occurred on March 5, 2026.
