Dr. A. G. Jeetoo Hospital: 12-Year-Old Boy Escapes Sexual Assault
A 12-year-old boy escaped a sexual assault on Tuesday, April 14, in the restrooms of Dr. A. G. Jeetoo Hospital. The boy was attacked by a 54-year-old man employed as a security guard. The child managed to flee and alerted the hospital police, resulting in the suspect's apprehension.
According to the boy's statement, made in the presence of his grandmother, the suspect approached him near a terminal in the capital. He accompanied the child to a nearby shop close to the hospital and bought him food. After the minor received his meal, he went to the public restrooms of the establishment to relieve himself, unaware that the suspect was following him.
While in the restroom, he sensed a presence behind him. Turning around, he saw it was the security guard he had spoken to earlier. The guard shoved him and locked them both in the restroom stall, allegedly attempting to sexually assault him.
The teenager fought back and managed to escape. He immediately headed to the hospital police station for help. Officers arrested the suspect, who was positively identified by the minor. The child was then medically assessed and evaluated by psychologists.
The suspect has been detained, and the police are continuing their investigation. The child is under observation following the incident.
