Chetraj Avin Purmanund Arrested for Alleged Child Grooming Involving a 13-Year-Old Minor

Another arrest has been made of Avin Chetraj Purmanund, 45, the director of Areva Immobilier. He was apprehended yesterday, Friday, April 17, by the Divisional Crime Intelligence Unit of the Northern Division, following allegations made by a 13-year-old girl who is a friend of his daughter.

According to gathered information, the minor claims she received messages via WhatsApp in which the suspect allegedly invited her to meet at his villa.

After his arrest, Avin Chetraj Purmanund was detained at the Piton center. He is facing a preliminary charge of "child grooming."

Earlier this month, he had already been arrested by the Financial Crimes Commission as part of an investigation into alleged money laundering.
