Here is Ehsan Juman's post:
Middle East Crisis
During an event organized by the Port Louis municipality this morning in my constituency, I announced in my speech a personal initiative in a spirit of solidarity towards our population affected by the effects of the crisis in the Middle East.
Aware of the seriousness of the situation and the human suffering it causes, I have requested the finance department of the National Assembly to implement a 20% deduction from my base salary for a period of six months, starting in April.
This gesture is meant to be primarily symbolic, but sincere, to contribute, however modestly, to the efforts of solidarity.
