Fuel: A Shipment of 30,000 Tons Expected
A new shipment of fuel, estimated at nearly 30,000 tons and coming from Oman, is expected between May 2 and May 4. Currently, no price increase is anticipated. Authorities are closely monitoring the international situation, particularly the fluctuations in global oil prices.
According to the State Trading Corporation, efforts are being made to prevent another increase and to ease the burden on consumers, despite a persistent deficit in the Price Stabilisation Account.
Adjustments, particularly regarding the Consumer Protection Act, are also being considered to allow for a potential decrease in prices.
During the last revision, which took place last Wednesday, prices were raised: petrol is now Rs 64.25 per liter and diesel is Rs 71.25 (petrol increased from Rs 58.45 to Rs 64.25 per liter, and diesel from Rs 64.80 to Rs 71.25).
This decision was related to the rise in international prices and an estimated deficit of Rs 3.2 billion in the Price Stabilisation Account. This marks the second price increase for diesel in less than a month, following an initial rise on March 25.
