Fatal Assault in St-Pierre: "We were told he and his partner often argued," say the victim's sons

"We were told they often argued, but we don't know why," say Evans and Elvin Adroit, the two sons of Éric Adroit, who passed away on Wednesday, April 22, after spending two weeks in intensive care.

At 52 years old, Éric Adroit suffered severe injuries during an assault at his home in Circonstance, St-Pierre, on the night of April 2. His partner, Maligaye Soobrayen, 59, has been arrested as part of the investigation.

The autopsy attributed his death to septicemia. Despite the severity of his condition, his loved ones still hoped for his recovery. His funeral took place Thursday afternoon at the St-Pierre church.

His sons remember him as a hardworking man who was always ready to joke. After separating from the mother of his children, Éric Adroit had recently started a new life with Maligaye Soobrayen.

According to preliminary investigation findings, a dispute is believed to have erupted at the couple's home before the victim was found severely injured in the head by his brother. The police continue their investigations to shed light on this tragedy.
