Montagne-Longue: A Bangladeshi Employee of Princes Tuna Dies in a Fire
A Bangladeshi national who died in a fire on Friday had arrived in Mauritius in 2019 and held a valid work permit until February 2027.
This 30-year-old employee of Princes Tuna did not survive her injuries after the fire broke out in the house where she lived in Montagne-Longue. She passed away at Victoria Hospital.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact circumstances of her death.
Another Bangladeshi national, aged 36, was also injured in this fire. He is currently hospitalized at Victoria Hospital, and his condition is of great concern.
The management of Princes Tuna states that they are fully cooperating with the authorities to shed light on this tragedy. Procedures for repatriating the victim's body have also been initiated.
